Why is a Black owned business celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month?

A few reasons. 1. Hispanic/Latino/Latinx culture and Black culture not only intersect, they overlap. Because enslaved Africans were brought to nearly every landmass in the "New World," there are millions of Latin Americans (continental America, not the U.S.) who are primarily or partially descended from enslaved Africans. Africanness shows up not only in the skin of Latinx people. It shows up in food, music, religion, every aspect of what it means to be creating culture and meaning in the world. 2. Dee is from New Orleans. Called the Northernmost Caribbean City, it is a place that has participated in the cultivation and exchange of people and culture with places like Cuba and Haiti for centuries.

So we've been celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month since our very first year in business.

As always, this box is full of great flavors and great stories. Stories worth sharing. Cookies worth stashing away.

The Hispanic Heritage Month 2025 Box contains the following three flavors, with two of each flavor in the standard box and eight of each in the deluxe box:

Cesar Chavez: California Trail Mix (Vegan, Gluten-Sensitive)

Roberto Clemente: Maduros (Sweet Plantain) Shortbread

To The Revolution: Truffle Fudge Cookie with Uncle Nearest Whiskey
