You may be wondering why the To The Revolution Cookie is in this month's Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM) Collection.
Originally featured in our Black History Month 2021 Box, the To The Revolution Cookie was designed to commemorate the Haitian Revolution. The fudge truffle cookie made with Fair Trade Chocolate, Dark Brown Sugar, Black Salt, & Uncle Nearest 1884.
We've opted to include it in the HHM Collection because it belongs there: its name is a wink at Hamilton, the musical from the brain of creative genius Lin Manuel Miranda, currently celebrating its 10th anniversary. Its commemoration of the Haitian revolution is the perfect excuse to acknowledge that revolution as the FIRST Latin American revolution and its people as Latinos (a people and culture born from a Latin descended language). It is also an acknowledgement of the sizable population of Hispanic Haitians, a people with a hard history worth knowing.
